Looking into it. Will get right back to you Jørgen

]]>Thank you for your comment! I had tasted his Racrei and sold about 48 bottles of it in Bergen last year and really enjoyed it. It was a pleasure to taste his dry wines this time around and I really think that he has potential! We need some bottles in Bergen!

It was a great event and their were some key notes to really grasp from the lectures, especially in regards to soil life & equilibrium and how it can reflect on a wine.
And I agree also with your comments about some faulty wines. People often say to me that I’m only drinking “that” wine because it’s natural and that’s the only reason I like it. I find that actually offensive because just as with “conventional” wines, there are good and there are bad. I wrote that in a post a few months back that “just because it’s natural, doesn’t mean it’s good”. We still have to be selective with natural wines like anything else.
One of my biggest issues with some of the wines at this tasting was the maceration times, too long in many cases producing unbalanced tannins. The other issue which I will repeat is the use of barriques which I don’t find natural at all…especially when they dominate the fruit.
However, i still believe that this was a gathering of overall very good wines and it’s not often that I go to a tasting where the overall level of “quality” was high. And no sulfur headache 😉
